Behind the Music

Who are we?

The Millvale Music Festival is a program of the Millvale Community Development Corporation. https://www.millvalecdc.org/

Mission: "The MCDC supports and empowers the people of Millvale to sustain a culture of collaboration." The MCDC is a 501(c)3 organization with the EIN 25-1823770

What drives us?

10 years ago, a group came together to create an event to highlight this gem of a river town and celebrate the rich artistic tapestry of the region. Today, the Millvale Music Festival creates community-organized events that support and showcase local music, art, and entertainment at the fun and unique venues of Millvale.

We value human creativity and innovation.

Accountability and transparency drive our collaborative efforts.

We value mastery and continuous improvement in our endeavors.

Opportunity and our ability to provide it drive us forward.

Being good neighbors drives our decision making.

Everyone is welcome at our festival.

We value making an economic impact in the community of Millvale, and for the artists who ARE the event.

We value sustainability in its many forms.

Why?

Millvale sits in a unique position.

The reality of the Arts in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area in 2026 is a complex story. We have world-class venues, tremendous performing groups, and a storied history of producing some of the great artists of history from our region, but…

  • Only 36% of cultural assets in the region have returned to pre-pandemic audience levels

  • Allegheny County artists are 2x as likely to be living below the poverty line

  • 45% of Pittsburgh Regional artists make less than 10% of their income from their art

We want to change that.
